these tracks are the sound of me teaching myself how to make music from the bottom of a mental well. i have mixed feelings about a lot of these tracks now. they sound unfinished to me. track 1 is more of a concept than a composition. i did some pretty aggressive remastering to get all of these to a point where i feel okay having them out in the world, but all the wacky original edits remain untouched. there's only a couple moments that give me the brain tingles (my current litmus test for whether a musical project is "done" or not). some of the tracks i'd still rank as some of my favorite recorded moments, though.
the tracks come from the following sources:
1, 5, 10: *un petite e.p. (demonstrative)* (2009)
8, 9: *pussy doodles e.p.* (2009)
2, 4, 7: *shtting in arabic* (2010)
3, 6, 11-13: *spin, fade and hum* (2011)
three of the tracks from spin, fade and hum were credited to "konet koneko" instead of "village and the farm u.k.," but that distinction is pointless to me now, so.... those tracks were 3, 6 and 12, if it matters to anyone. the album cover is a still from a music video for track 2 that i never finished.

This album carries a sense of closeness, and of distinguished, subdued, melancholy. I especially enjoy the little echoes of sounds that fade off into a faraway place. It's very aptly named.
